We just got our Belgian Malinois/GSD rescue puppy this past August. I was ready to give him back about 1 month in. He was becoming mean and biting our family when he needed or wanted something. We started doing Garret's Diyk9 training program and everything changed. 6 weeks later and he is the BEST dog. We just got back from a vacation in the mountains and everywhere we went, he was greeted with smiles and compliments of how good a dog he was. Thank you Garrett and American Standard for what yall do! Our Balto wouldn't be who he is without your knowledge and wisdom with this breed. Rock on yall ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm a German Shepherd partner (the working line) I have lived thru some stuff and these boys let me sleep at night. Not because he's gonna rip up someone but because anyone coming on the property is ID'd from the moment they show up.

My working line GSD is a total dream. He's perfect with kids and with us. All it takes is a daily bike ride for 10-12 km and an hour at the park doing tricks and playing with the frisbee… lol. But honestly, what a great dog.

Grew up with working line GSDs. So easy and loving with the family. It wasn't uncle Jeff in our case but my dad's co-worker who lost a piece of his palm. He wanted to show us he wasn't afraid of our dogs and ignored my dad's warning.

Normally he’s right, but not about the GSD. It really is a lot more nuanced than what he stated. GSDs do have the characteristics that he mentioned, but not all American lines are basket cases. In fact, most in my experience have exceptional social intelligence and are the best multi purpose breed that I know of. I can write a book on how wonderful of a breed they are and all of the amazing accomplishments that mine have done, but I will let the other people commenting share their stories.

We have three perfectly good German Shepherds but they can't be for everyone they are very dominant have a lot of energy and are way too over bred but we have pure breeds.

Would a poodle make a good guard dog?
My first protection dog was a shepherd/chow mix…amazing dog! But I did work with an experienced trainer for that. Had to be on point with him, but that dog saved my life and was my everything.
